The First Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that the green gaming company continues to plan to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Well-Rounded Collection

In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
