Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Vehicle You're Hoping For
We already knew that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, if gamers will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield car the community is eager to drive, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would undoubtedly love to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed automobile the patriarch designed personally in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. Not even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty truck featured in the tenth season. Instead, players are getting the Simpsons' everyday well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since 1989. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an iconic symbol of the show. And for players who analyze the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car shares the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car
And it's not the only customization item from the show coming to the game. The event will additionally feature a set of objectives to unlock additional goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the challenges will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson residence, and drive a distance worthy of picking up the ideal pastries!"
Although the full lineup of challenge rewards isn't yet revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is any indication, it appears fans will also get rims with a TV showing the show's opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to burning tires and Krusty Burger.
