BF6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Overly Demanding
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are protesting against several of the title's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using personalized games set up using the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how arduous these challenges have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many merely grant cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons available in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms could shortly find their way on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry via Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and only works at very short distances, which isn't typically where you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Mission
A different forum member highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but given there are merely nine maps in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and maybe Operation Firestorm at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
But when tackling the tasks in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if several of these tasks are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.
Currently, the player base continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous overall gameplay in future updates.
